The new campaign from the Village of Bartlett champions everything that makes Bartlett special.
Your Hometown - Letter from the Village President
When I became mayor, I promised to bring in new ideas, new approaches, and new faces to help foster continued growth and engagement in the village. That’s why the Community and Economic Affairs Commission (CEAC), a new village advisory body, is such an exciting and strategic step forward for Bartlett.
The mission of the CEAC centers on three key themes: pride, participation and prosperity.
Each year, our very successful Merry & Bright Tree Lighting and Cocoa Crawl allows residents to gather for family friendly fun while showcasing village spaces and businesses. We will continue to plan and promote special events, such as Merry & Bright, to bring the Bartlett community together and strengthen participation and civic pride.
Brewster Creek Business Park remains a dominant economic engine for Bartlett. The equalized assessed value of the property has now surpassed $100 million and new businesses continue to come into the park as existing businesses expand or build additional facilities.
Downtown, with its mix of mom-and-pop shops and unique dining opportunities from Asian to Venezuelan and everything in between, continues to thrive. It is sure to shine even brighter come spring, when residents and visitors can enjoy the new streetscape and our revitalized town center.
We will continue economic development strategies that support retention of our proven businesses, in Brewster Creek, downtown and throughout the village, while encouraging business attraction and expansion. The Route 20 TIF District is one initiative that is already generating excitement and will certainly ensure that Bartlett remains a great place to live, work and do business well into the future.
Every business venture and development, big and small, requires collaboration. The village’s partnerships with the Bartlett Area Chamber of Commerce, with its volunteer advisory commissions, and with our business community and residents, help to strengthen and maintain Bartlett’s healthy business climate.
Whether you have lived in Bartlett for decades, work in the village, own a business here, or are a first-time visitor, you’ll soon see for yourself why You Belong in Bartlett.
Daniel Gunsteen
Village President
Bartlett feels like a small town -- even though it has grown a lot over the years. It's safe. Welcoming. Filled with adventures, events and experiences.
Downtown is growing with the reinvigorated Streets of Bartlett and the addition of More Brewing, Aldi and One Twenty Live.
Its outdoor spaces and parks, including Bartlett Hills Golf Club, James "Pate" Philip State Park, and miles of bike trails, provide wonderful opportunities for relaxation, active living and a chance to connect.
And Bartlett's business parks are strong and growing with such anchors as Get Fresh Foods, Rana Meal Solutions and Greco & Sons.
For residents, We Belong in Bartlett serves to connect us together. Look for Belong in Bartlett t-shirts, signs, activities and social media around the village in the year to come. You will see it on TV, radio and on digital media as well, telling the Belong in Bartlett story.
For economic development, You Belong in Bartlett aims to tell the Bartlett story, invite new businesses into Bartlett to keep the tax base strong, and to provide support for existing businesses. Whether you're a resident, a first-time or occasional visitor or you are a business leader, you belong in Bartlett. Because it's home.
