The Village of Bartlett is seeking a detail-oriented and highly responsible Part-Time FOIA Clerk to join our Police Department. This role is critical in maintaining transparency, protecting sensitive information, and ensuring compliance with the Illinois Freedom of Information Act.

Responsibilities include responding to FOIA requests within legal deadlines, interpreting and applying exemptions and redactions in compliance with applicable laws, including the Law Enforcement Officer-Worn Body Camera Act, reviewing and redacting audio/video evidence, including body-worn camera footage, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and proper handling of sensitive records, maintaining detailed tracking and documentation of requests, This position involves office work, with extensive computer work. The role requires the ability to sit for extended periods and requires regular review of audio/video files, including potentially sensitive or disturbing content.
The ideal candidate will have an associate’s degree and at least two (2) years of related experience (or equivalent combination), prior FOIA or records experience preferred, but not required, familiarity with Microsoft Office and document redaction tools, and experience with digital evidence systems is a plus. Must possess strong attention to detail and decision-making skills, ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize effectively, a high level of integrity and discretion with confidential information, comfort reviewing audio/video content, including potentially graphic material and professional communication skills.
The Village of Bartlett offers a professional work environment, as well as paid leave time. We offer a flexible schedule with hours between 7:00am and 4:30pm, Monday-Friday. The current starting wage is $26.72/hour. We require a comprehensive background check, including a polygraph and a pre-employment physical with successful completion of an alcohol and drug test.
