The Village of Bartlett, IL is a progressive, growing community located 35 miles west of downtown Chicago in Cook, DuPage and Kane Counties. The Public Works Department is seeking an experienced Senior Maintenance Worker for water system maintenance and repairs, working in the Water Division.
This position is responsible for operation, construction, maintenance, repair and installation of Village water system facilities including the emergency back-up wells, booster station, pressure adjustment stations, water storage facilities, the water distribution system, fire hydrants, and water meter system. This position is responsible for the operation of excavation equipment, specialized equipment and related tools and machinery. The position reports to the Water Supervisor.
The village is seeking a team-oriented professional with strong effective interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to perform skilled duties relating to water system maintenance, operations and repairs, to include extensive experience with heavy equipment operations.
Must possess a Valid Class “B” Commercial Driver’s License.
Applicants must be able to perform strenuous physical activity in an outdoor environment and lift up to 50lbs, work in water pump stations with exposure to noise and electrical hazards.
If selected, completion of a pre-employment physical (including alcohol and drug test) is required and employee is subject to random drug testing per DOT requirements.
The Senior Maintenance Worker is a union, non-exempt position.

The current starting wage is $34.51 to $49.24 per hour depending on qualifications.
