Kids Story Time with an LCC K-9 Comfort Dog

Kids Story Time with Zippy, an LCC K-9 Comfort Dog - 11 a.m. During this FREE program during Heritage Days, you will learn how dogs served and helped in World War I? Children will hear the stories of two real WW I dogs, Rags and Sargent Stubby, and how they helped the soldiers in battle. A themed craft will follow. Zippy, a trained golden retriever comfort dog, will be there for hugs and support!

Also, the Bartlett Depot Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. during Heritage Days on Saturday, 9/8. Stop in anytime for a free kids craft and to pick up a free self-guided downtown walking tour.The current exhibit is "Over There, Over Here! Bartlett and the Great War" The first 100 visitors will receive a color changing cup that celebrates the Illinois Bicentennial.

The Bartlett History Museum will be open Saturday, 9/8, from 9 a.m. to noon. Celebrate Illinois' 200th birthday through this state endorsed exhibit, "The Illinois Bicentennial, Celebrating State and Bartlett Shared History." Visitors will learn about Illinois' farming, railroad, architecture, etc., through a Bartlett lens. The first 50 visitors will receive a color changing cup that celebrates this milestone anniversary.
