Come to Bartlett Public Library at 7 p.m. on Thursday, 4/17 to hear Connie Martin share her family story of secret codes in patterns of antebellum quilt replicas used to signify safe routes to freedom from Kentucky on the Underground Railroad to Canada. Martin's mother, Dr. Clarice Boswell, wrote Lizzie's Story: A Slave Family's Journey to Freedom, a story about her ancestor's struggles for survival during the Pre-Civil Ware era.
